Stag Group Inc. Shares The Relevance of a Sports Mentality

A sports mentality will eternally be appreciated in any field. The idea behind it is that your competitive drive, focus, and mindset transfer on to anything you chose to do. Whether it is the sports world or the business industry, a sports mentality means you can apply the same rules, tactics, habits, and dispositions you would when you’re playing a game. The best athletes of and before our time knew that the best way to gain momentum, practice, and skill is by pushing their limits. Similarly, at Stag Group, we recognize that value of someone coming to the business industry with a background in sports. “Due to the nature of sports, it helps develop a person’s mind. That mindset usually has a winner’s attitude and because of that many people tend to excel in our business industry because of their competitive drive,” says Kirsty Pennal of Stag Group

Our CEO at Stag is also from a competitive background and sports world. “I have training in equestrian, eventing and showjumping specifically. These have tremendously built my positivity, persona, and attitude while progressing within that sport. Anytime you go into any other field, but come from a sports background, you are automatically raising the bar for yourself because you know you’re competitive and so does the person in front of you — it says a lot,” says Kirsty Pennal of Stag Group. Another fun fact is that our Assistant Manager is also from a sports background, Brazilian jiu-jitsu. As well as one of our executives, who also comes from playing rugby and that background.

We pride ourselves on being able to call ourselves competitive, resilient and well equipped to handle anything thrown at us. We value a sports background because a majority of our agents and leaders are from the sports world. It doesn’t matter what kind of sport you did or are in right now; it matters that you learned something from it. You developed healthy habits and an active mindset to push you through adversity and become the person you are right now or want to be. That person that comes out from difficulties is the most resilient and hard working. “When you allow yourself to be the person you dream of becoming, you will see that hard work, a strong mentality, and all training pays off,” says Kirsty Pennal of Stag Group. Our value is that having a sports background levels the field in a stronger way, and we’re proud of that factor, it makes us different.
